    Description

    This striking carved wooden fisherman was purchased from a Chinese importer in San Jose, CA by my husband and me in 1977.  The elder fisherman's hat is removeable and the rod can be taken out of his hand.  This piece stands 19" tall and has a 5" x 5" base.  It is very sturdy, weighing almost 6 lbs.  I am not certain what type of wood he is carved from, but I believe it to be boxwood.  I have included a photo of the base.
